Hi Everyone! My name is Thuan Tran and I am a current student at Luther College. I will be heading into my third year this fall, however, my year will be spent in Nottingham, England. My area of studies are psychology and neuroscience with the overall goal of becoming a clinical psychologist with an emphasis on trauma.
I am originally from Vietnam and my mother and I immigrated to the United States when I was around one or two years old. We lived in California for a short period of time before moving to Mount Pleasant, Iowa where I was raised and where my mother had my little brother, Johnny. I graduated from Mount Pleasant Community High School and chose to attend Luther College for undergrad. At Luther, I participate in a PALs program and play tennis for the Women’s Tennis Team.
In my spare time, I enjoy reading a good science fiction or romance novel. When I am not inside reading, I prefer to spend time outside. In the summers, I like taking a hike or a bike ride on the trails in Decorah, Iowa (where Luther College is located and where I stay during the summers). Hanging out with kids is something I enjoy, so I tend to babysit for family’s the community when I have time.
